✅ UX Career Tip #5: Spell-check everything
This can prevent your application from being dismissed immediately.
This one is, by far, the biggest mystery for me.
Everyone with the Internet has free access to fantastic tools to help write with better grammar and even punctuation.
No, they are not flawless, but they cover almost all basic mistakes. So, I am struggling to find an excuse when I see simple grammar errors in resumes, cover letters, and portfolios.
Why is that? Lack of awareness that these tools exist? Lack of understanding that these mistakes are a big red flag for a lot of hiring managers? Or they just don't think it's important enough? It is very important.
I am puzzled 🤔
PS I use Grammarly and love it 💟 An extraordinary tool that makes my life easier. They have browser plugins and stuff, try it out.
